Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using PaySlice. By using the app, you agree to be bound by these terms.

Last updated: August 2026

1. Who We Are

PaySlice is an independent mobile application built and operated by its sole developer, based in India. There is no company, investor, or advertising business behind it — it is one person's project, and an email reaches that person.

In these Terms, "we", "us", and "PaySlice" mean that operator. You can reach us at [email protected] for anything relating to these Terms, [email protected] for data questions, or [email protected] for help using the app.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using PaySlice ("the app", "the service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use PaySlice.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify you of material changes via the app or by email.

3. Description of Service

PaySlice is a personal expense-tracking and debt-splitting application designed for individual and group use. The service allows you to:

  • Record shared expenses with friends or group members.
  • Split costs using equal, custom-amount, percentage, or item-wise methods.
  • Track who owes whom across multiple currencies.
  • Record settlements to mark debts as paid.
  • View expense analytics and activity history.

PaySlice is a tracking and bookkeeping tool only. It does not process, hold, or transfer actual money between users.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use PaySlice. By using the app you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

5. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • All activity that occurs under your account.
  • Ensuring that the information you provide is accurate and up to date.

You must notify us immediately at [email protected] if you believe your account has been compromised. We are not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized use of your account.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use PaySlice only for lawful personal expense-tracking purposes. You must not:

  • Use the app to facilitate fraud, money laundering, or any illegal activity.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app.
  • Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the service.
  • Harass, threaten, or impersonate other users.
  • Upload content that is obscene, defamatory, or infringes third-party intellectual property rights.
  • Attempt to circumvent security controls or access data belonging to other users.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without notice.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, design, trademarks, and software comprising PaySlice are the property of PaySlice and its licensors. These Terms do not grant you any rights to use our trademarks, logos, or branding.

You retain ownership of the data you enter into the app (expense descriptions, amounts, notes, etc.). By submitting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.

8. No Warranty

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Exchange rate data is provided for convenience and may not reflect real-time market rates.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PAYSLICE AND ITS TEAM SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO FINANCIAL LOSSES, DATA LOSS, OR DISPUTES BETWEEN USERS.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US (IF ANY) IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Dispute Resolution

If you have a dispute with another user arising from use of PaySlice, we encourage you to resolve it directly. PaySlice is not a party to any debt or financial arrangement between users and bears no responsibility for resolving such disputes.

For disputes with PaySlice itself, please contact us first at [email protected] to seek an informal resolution before initiating formal proceedings.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any legal action arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in India.

12. Termination

You may stop using PaySlice and delete your account at any time through the app settings. We may suspend or terminate your access at our discretion if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the service, with or without notice.

Upon termination, the provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimer, and limitation of liability) will remain in effect.
